Dear Dave,

You are running into this problem:

It's most easy to update to mozilla-1.8a5 as this version seems to 
compile without issues. Or apply the patches to alpha 3 or 4 of mozilla 
and that version will compile as well.

The issue lies in the changes made by the freetype libraries since 
version 2.1.8.
