Probably not in both cases. I upgraded gtksourceview and downgraded
evolution-webcal. The dependencies, not the failing packages. Sorry, but
I don't understand which Makefiles you edited.
Try reading and understanding the patch file. It's not that hard. ;-)
I even mentioned the changes and the respective reason in the attached
"changes" file.
