"Building Font cache" hangup - Garnome 0.21.2

	Hi Listers

My garnome installation is hangs while it tries to install fontconfig as dependency.  I did exactly as told in http://mail.gnome.org/archives/garnome-list/2003-February/msg00152.html <http://mail.gnome.org/archives/garnome-list/2003-February/msg00152.html>  (which may help some others having the same problem) but still get the same problem.  I am using SUSE7.3 on P3 450.  I have installed the latest Glib and pkg-config (due to a previous problem).  All other dependencies (to garnome) are to the latest version.  I'd sincerely appreciate your help.
