ppl, Just yet I got fontconfig (rc3) to work, using the pango-1.1.1 beta-release. It is just sweet, it now always chooses a font correctly for displaying whatever language (chinese, japanese, etc.). I have no longer a need to carefully choose the right font myself. Although I don't understand any japanese, chinese or whatever funny looking language, the demo-effect is off course fantastic. I even got sub-pixel rendering to work again. Any one interested in a garball? -A.
