Fixing score system

While we're on that subject, I should like to raise the question of
scores behaviour in Aisle Riot software. It seems to behave differently
for different games. Some of them are consistent, and others are not.
The worst offender is Diamond Mine; I have sat here and witnessed it
creating entirely bogus "best time" stats literally out of thin air -
"best times" that not only nobody here has ever attained, but are so low
that the probability is quite good that they are unattainable. Diamond
Mine just seems to create these stats at whim. It will go along over
several games maintaining the best and worst times exactly correct, then
jump in the next time and overwrite the previous best with some
ludicrously short time from, apparently, its own imagination (does
software possess imagination<g>?)

Oddly, it never alters the "worst time" stat. I find that fascinating.

About the only other Aisle Riot solitaire game I play with any frequency
is Free Cell - and Free Cell has *never* exhibited this behaviour. So it
would seem clear that something is amiss in the code for Diamond Mine.

I am not competent to dive in and try to fix it myself, but perhaps
Mr. Catanzaro has some ideas....

Thanks for any help,

Brewster Gillett

Simply because you don't like to hear it, that doesn't make it untrue.
