Themes for Four in a Row, Same Gnome and Five or More

Hi,
It seems that the theme engines in gnect, same-gnome and glines do not work as documented, or at all.  The manual for each game mentions simply crafting images in the right folder, which will then show up as themes.  I have gnome-games-extra-data installed, which gives several extra themes for each, but they do not show up in the game prefs.  From what I've found, it seems like this used to work, but broke/was hardcoded at some point.  Does anyone know why the change was made?  I would like to make some new themes, but editing the hardcoded C and recompiling doesn't seem like a good way to add a new theme.
