First up, let me say that what you have done is really neat. However I'm
not sure it is much use for gnomine, basically because the idea is to
have a human play the game, not show off how good we are at getting the
computer to play the game. 

In principle we could replace the current hint function with one of
these algorithms, but keep in mind that the current hint function is not
designed to give the best move, it is designed to reveal a square that
gives a lot of information to the player. Having said that, it doesn't
give the most possible information to the player.

I certainly do not want two hint functions.
