The Gnome Foundation is hooking up with OSGeo!? This is great. 

Where can I find out more?

I'm on a very long term (decade or more) plan to try to build Gnome
Atlas which has side tracked me into working on a Java geospatial
library which is becoming part of OSGeo. So I'm thrilled to think that
Gnome and OSGeo will link up.
