A wiki page with "Ideas for Students" would be great! Perhaps it could
list ideas for PhD, Masters, and undergrad projects.
I would add "Redeye Removal that Works for Everyone" as a gThumb area
that could use academic experimentation, perhaps as a Masters-level
project (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=423706).
