Ubuntu is a new Linux distribution that brings together the breadth of
Debian
I would guess that this, like Debian itself, is a distribution of
the GNU/Linux system. Many people don't know that the GNU Project
was its main developer, because so many people call it "Linux".
Would you please help correct this error, by calling it a GNU/Linux
distribution?
See http://www.gnu.org/gnu/gnu-linux-faq.html for more explanation.
with a focused selection of packages, regular releases (every
six months) and a commitment to security updates with 18 months of
security and technical support for every release.
Will Ubuntu be 100% free software?
Most GNU/Linux distributions include non-free software,
so each additional distribution that is committed to be 100% free
is an important step forward.
