The disclaim of IP violations a
priori might even be consider bad faith.
For the sake of clear thinking, please avoid using the term "IP" or
"intellectual property". Patent law and copyright law are different
on almost every point, and trademark law is even more different. The
term "intellectual property" leads people to treat these three
disparate laws as if they were one coherent thing that could be
discussed as a whole. Unless you're a lawyer and you've studied all
thsee laws in detail, starting from that confusion will only lead
to more confusion.
Most of the time you don't really want to talk about more than one
of those three.
