Sorry to mail twice in the same thread...

It also helps to have 2 or 3 bar stools by each demo station.  The goal
is that you can be sitting down and your eyes are still roughly level
with most people's eyes so you make eye contact.  If booth staff sit in
low chairs, visitors will feel unwilling to approach them (basic
psychology at work :-) ) similarly make sure people never have to step
up or down onto your booth, avoid making barriers.

At European shows you can often give visitors a glass of wine, or
something else to drink or eat... bite sized... so as to lure them in
:-)
