I had another look at the instruction part of the ballot:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Vote instructions (just reply)
=================
Simply replying to this e-mail and choosing up to 11 candidates should
be enough to vote. This means that you should delete all other
candidates from your reply.
Your vote has to be sent to vote gnome org
You will find a validation token in this mail. This token is used to
identify you (and only you). For this reason, this token should not be
modified nor deleted.
Your ballot will be considered invalid if one of these conditions
occurs:
* there is no member e-mail address
* the member e-mail address is not the e-mail address this ballot was
sent to
* there is no validation token
* the validation token is not valid
* there are too many candidates chosen (more than 11)
* there is no candidate chosen
* there is a duplicate vote for a candidate
We would be grateful to you for not changing the format of this mail
when replying (the '> ' coming from the reply is okay) because the votes
will be counted using a script.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes, I would have nearly send an invalid ballot since I was reading the
message from an account using a different e-mail address by default, but
the instruction in that respect were clear. I fail to see how these
ballot instructions could be made any clearer.
