I do have gimp-ufraw installed and I can open RAW files in GIMP - but of course GIMP cannot store into a RAW file. That's why I think it makes no sense to use a copy of the RAW file for creating a new version of an image with the "Edit in GIMP" option. GIMP will always leave the RAW file untouched, even if it is a "new version". When I have finished editing the image and chose "save" in GIMP's file menu, GIMP tells me that it cannot save .cr2 files. When I chose "save as..." instead, I can convert and save the image to a jpeg File (or any other format) - but this file won't be recognized by F-Spot as the new version I wanted to create. It won't even exist in the database. So this will end up in a useless copy of a huge RAW file and a lost jpeg file. Of course I can open the RAW file without creating a new version, save the edited file as jpeg in some other directory, manually import the jpeg file into F-Spot and run the "merge raw" extension. But that's not really comfortable ... Heiner ----- Ursprüngliche Nachricht ----- |
