0.5.0: "F-Spot Encountered a Fatal Error"

Hello,

I tried upgrading to the recently released F-Spot 0.5.0, and got the
following errors. When launching F-Spot it pops up an alert dialog
titled "F-Spot Encountered a Fatal Error: Extension node not found in
path: /FSpot/Sidebar". When I click the Error Details link, I get the
following information:

An unhandled exception was thrown: Extension node not found in

If I click OK, the program exits. If I try again, I get the same exact
error.

As noted in the above output, I compiled F-Spot on Ubuntu 8.04. In
order to satisfy some dependencies, I upgraded some mono packages from
the following Hard Heron repository:
        https://launchpad.net/~ruben/+archive

Running from the command line, I get the following output:
        $ f-spot
        [Info 10:42:11.387] Initializing DBus
        [Info 10:42:11.514] Initializing Mono.Addins

found in path: /FSpot/Sidebar (in `Mono.Addins')

        handler) [0x00000]

          at FSpot.Driver.Main (System.String[] args) [0x00000]

Searching Google for this error, I only found a google cache of a
pastebin entry where someone else had posted this same error:
http://74.125.45.104/search?q=cache:cGBakjxkIRgJ:pastebin.ca/raw/1089598
+An+unhandled+exception+was+thrown:+Extension+node+not+found+in+path:
+/FSpot/Sidebar&hl=en&ct=clnk&cd=1&gl=us

The only abnormality I noticed during compilation was the following:
        ./configure: line 21293: GNOME_COMPILE_WARNINGS: command not
        found

Any tips on how I can fix this?

Thanks,
 -Jeremy
