Avoid to overwrite existing images?

Hi,

I am running a Ubuntu machine which automatically launces f-spot when I
insert a memory card, offering
to copy the card to the hard disk. Nice and convenient.

However, it seems as if f-spot always copies all pictures from the
memory card, no matter whether they
already existed on disk. This is time and power wasting if I insert a
card that had already been
copied, e.g. because some new pictures have been added. Furthermore, it
can damage pictures on
disk (e.g. when they have been modified).

How could I turn this behaviour off?

regards
Hadmut
