Solutions for the following use case scenario

Dear readers of the list,

there is the family Tux. Father Ron and daughter Carla take a lot of
pictures with the two digital cameras they have.

They both use the same computer and have their own user accounts. The
images are imported into a directory /srv/pics where both of them have
read and write access. They want to save time and use a photo management
program.

They also want to share their work, i. e., when Carla tags some images,
adds a description or improves (crop, contrast, etc.) the image, the
results should be also available for father Ron and vice versa.

Do you have any idea how to accomplish this in F-Spot? Or are other
programs better suited for this task?

When my understanding is correct, each user has his own database stored
in .gnome2/f-spot/ . So it should be quite difficult to share the
database.

The only solution, I came up with so far, is to create a new user, e. g.
foto, and each person is using f-spot having logged in as the foto user
before.

Any ideas are very much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Paul
