F-Spot and CPU

Hi all
Since this morning, when F-Spot is running but doing anything, the CPU is used at around 75 %. I can use F-Spot but it runs slower than usely. When I stop F-Spot, the CPU activity comes down at around 0 or 1 %. Do you know what's happening ? Do you know what to do ?
F-Spot 0.4.0 - Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon).
Sorry for my bad english. I am french. Is there some french speaking peaple here ? Y a-t-il des français ici ?
