Can't log in to Picasaweb with f-spot

I have f-spot 0.3.5 in Mandriva 2007.1.

I would like to export some images to picasaweb (picasaweb.google.co.uk). 
However after selecting File/Export/Export to Picasaweb, selecting add 
gallery, and supplying the username and password, I get a dialog box that 
claims

"Error Connecting to Gallery"

Ther is no elaboration as to the actual problem, but f-spot only offers for 
me to re-enter the username and password. I can't get past this point, 
although the user name and password are correct (as far as I can tell). 

So is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong?
