See, I never compile F-Spot in original SVN checkout directory :)

Anyway, here is what I see on clean checkout:

configure: creating ./config.status
config.status: creating src/f-spot
config.status: error: cannot find input file: Makefile.in
avp traveller:~/soft/svn/f-spot$
