Re: keep 2 f-spot databases synchronized

Hey,

I am the author of conduit. I dont see full f-spot support coming in
the near future because at the moment there is no safe way to add,
remove and update photo information from outside of f-spot. The
current f-spot support is a bit hackish, in the sense that I open the
sqlite DB directly and fiddle with it. This is not, um, safe or smart.

With tomboy I went and added DBus methods to allow me to manipulate
the tomboy data store, safely, while tomboy is running. I have not yet
had the time to look into this with f-spot.

Regarding the conflict, resolution, etc, conduit can handle these
sorts of situations, but once again this is dependant on being able to
safely interact with the f-spot DB

Thoughts anyone?

Conduit seems a promising project to solve this kind of problems, and more
generally sync problems:

conduit-project.org

Look in the status:
"F-spot datasource (70% complete)"

F-spot will be supported. Yeahhhh.
