RAW image editing

I found a raw file for a Canon 10D to experiment with using F-Spot.
When I make any changes to the file, I'm told the feature is not
implemented. I'd expect to have F-Spot run dcraw and convert the image
to jpeg. Although, using GEGL (http://www.gegl.org/) would be better.
I am using F-Spot 0.2.0 on Gentoo.
