Hi
How should F-Spot implement the Copyright information?
My small thoughts.
It should preferably be settable during import, unless already set.
Definitely --- in fact, you should be able to set a default copy right
in the preferences that is used for all imports unless over-ridden.
It should be possible to display it in the main window (preference option?)
probably --- might also be good to have it as an option in the
"View->Beneath photo" menu.
It should be possible to set the Copyright information as a normal tag
from within F-Spot.
I am not sure that I agree here... I think tags should be used for
categorizing photos --- not storing random bits of information about
them. I think copyright should be treated similar to the 'comment'
field (which, confusingly, is called "Description" in the code). I
think it should be a new top-level entity
However, I do think it would be useful to be able to interact with
copyright information in a somewhat similar way to tags --- it would be
very useful to be able to filter out all photos matching (or not
matching) a certain copyright string, for instance.
We might even want to store license information --- I see that flickr
lets you indicate if your photos are creative commons licensed, for
instance...
