Status of Rename patch (302566)?

Hi

I am just wondering if there is any update on this patch which I submitted.
I would love it to be accepted into the mainstream, so I can continue to
work on it...
Also, I have some friends who is asking for this feature (renaming the
photos from different cameras so the photos have similar name structure)
