Actually this is exactly what I started doing last night. I had
originally done licenses as tags, which ends up creating a lot of tags
and making it a little difficult to sort through photos. So I've
created a license table in the database and a join table for photos.
Initially the license table is populated with creative commons licenses
and contains the name of the licenses and where one can get more
information. Each license also has a few bits identifying the various
CC proprieties, like share-alike, derivatives, commercial use, etc.
The thought is that you'll be able to add a license to your photos in
the similar way that you add tags to photos, with the exception that
you'll be limited to one license per photo.
If you have photos that are tagged with licenses then you would be able
to browse by license, or browse by features of the license. For
example, look at all the photos that allow derivative work.
Any thoughts?
