Indeed. What about only grabing the focus when the user presses enter on
that list? Currently, pressing enter will just reload the folder, it
seems.

This way we have the focus working as it should when clicking, and the
user is still able to browse the folders list with the keyboard, but you
have a way of telling evo to change the focus without using the mouse or
loads of tab key presses.
Are you sure what we have now is correct?  This isn't how other gtktreeview using programs are working, i'm trying to think of an example, but i don't really use gnome enough - i think the file selector might.

And as for changing the keyboard focus with tab - isn't that just the way it works in gnome?  And we don't have labels we can use as accelerators like you can sometimes.
What do you think? I still could not find how to implement this, though.
I don't know.  I don't really care, and it doesn't look like anyone else does either.  *shrug*
