In this particular rare case, it's not 100% explicit. Normally it is.
It _is_ still very useful to me though. We _could_ add a date or just
day in the italics too in the case that it's different, but I think
that's overkill. It's subtle enough at the moment that it can't possibly
offend anyone; we don't want to make it larger without adequate reason.

I disagree. I had to search for a while to _find_ a mail where the local
and original _date_ differed. We're talking about a fairly rare case,
and it's still useful in that case anyway; it's just not 100% explicit.
I can manage adding or subtracting a single day; it's the varying number
of hours which is hard to do in my head.
