It doesn't _tell_ you but it is fairly obvious -- and it's also most
important at the time you're reading the mail for the first time, in my
experience -- when it's even more obvious.

You could add day-of-month or '30 Jun' only if the date actually
changes, I suppose -- I did originally consider that but decided it was
pointless; the date isn't really too much of a problem.
