Well, there's no text in them -- just '%a, %R %Z'... but yeah, if we
want in some locale to put the day name _after_ the time, or to omit the
comma or something, then perhaps we want the strings translated still.

Isn't that what %X is supposed to do? I tried that but discarded it
because I preferred the time without seconds... it wasn't am/pm anyway
in en_GB.
