Any ideas.  I fear (and hope) that this problem can't be reproduced.

I have this problem, and a related one, frequently.

I think it's an artifact of some web page generators maybe switching to UTF-8.

I also noticed that in some cases, highlighting a paragraph, copying to the clipboard (Ctrl-C), and trying to paste it (Ctrl-V) does nothing.

The workaround for both of these is not to select the last character of the paragraph.
