Restarted Evolution about 2.5 hours ago as per the above instructions.   Frequency of the preview window not

rendering until moused over is down significantly, but not gone completely.

Only one message on the console:

which reads like a transient issue talking place with one of the IMAP servers.   I've seen more than one fail to render

instance, which makes me think this is a red herring.
