Dear Milan,

But regarding my example, there is no special tag given to search
for
(e.g. from:blabla).

My first understanding of this search type was to search in any of the
fields, but as you and Andre wrote, this is not the case.

Thus my question is related to MY example where I searched for
"regine@" (without any tag prefix) - here I've did not found the
expected email in the results list. In comparison searching for "@" -
here I found the expected email. My question is, how the system react,
if no prefix is given?

      Hi,
it's there, in exactly the same form as you wrote it:

   from:blabla

or in the short form:

   f:blabla

The above page says near the top:

Advanced users can combine numerous conditions by using the Free
   form expression syntax.

which references the list of available options and how to influence
the
behavior:

   https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=550796#c10

which names "from/f" at the first line. I suppose you found it there,
which may eventually mean the search result is not accurate for you
for
some reason. Yous 3.28.5 is too old though, the current stable series
is 3.36.x, with a planned 3.36.4 release for this Friday.

I guess it would be nice to have some examples of the free form
search
expressions for common things, thus the users do not need to make
them
up on their own from the techy description (it's easier to learn from
the examples, at least for me), but I didn't went that far yet. Maybe
if there is a list of some common real life queries it could be done.
      Bye,
      Milan
