[Evolution] Problems of loading mails from the mailserver

Hallo together,
I have a problem using evolution. When I want to download mails from the
mailserver I frequently got the message: 

Error while Sending message. DATA command failed: Error: message file
too big

Moreover the messages became removed from the mailserver but did not
appear in my inbox.

Can anyone give me a hint what to do or to check.
