Hi,
please mark quoted text as such. It's super confusing to read non-
indented text and only at the end see another person's signature.

Is there a way to preserve the original layout from Evolution in
the external editor?
Which character set encodings does your external editor support?
A non-breaking space encoded in UTF-8 is 0xC2,0xA0. If you incorrectly
open that as ISO-8859-1 instead of UTF-8 it will become "Â ". And more
stuff can break, trying to convert back again. That's my guess.

Andre:
There is a codeset problem with the external editor but changing the default codeset to UTF-8
doesn't fix the formatting problems. Evolution is passing plain text to the external editor
instead of formatted HTML present in Evolution. The HTML tags are completely missing. This
could possibly be caused by a setting in Webkit. Libwebkitgtk-3_0-0 version 2.4.11-2.10 is
installed on my copy of OpenSuse.
