Probably it is showing the emails read for first time less than a few
days ago.
Hi,
there's a setting for it, like when you open https://mail.google.com ,
then click the gear button, there Preferences, there the tab with
POP/IMAP settings. You can choose what the server shows to the client,
both with POP and IMAP.
