I suspect the OP want's to keep the LTS dependencies and not to
break everything ;). Building and installing to /opt without using
shared libs requires knowledge, so perhaps it's either easier to use
snapcraft, which might come with an easier and shorter learning curve
or to install a guest Linux that follows upstream inside a virtual
machine, the last most likely is the easiest approach, while your
ideas are most likely the worst and hardest to do solution.
