Hi,
any idea why the evolution (and evolution-data-server) wasn't updated,
but the other parts of the GNOME were? Some of the GNOME "components"
are tight to the evolution-data-server, thus there can happen some
issues with it.
the calendar no longer works. I tried to add it again, it
asks me for the secure connection but when i press to find the
calendar it never asks me for a password nor does it do anything
else. The whole process ends with a timeout message.
I think the easiest will be to run from console:
$ CALDAV_DEBUG=all /usr/libexec/evolution-calendar-factory -w
(the Ubuntu can have it stored elsewhere), then run the evolution and
try to open the calendar. The console with the factory should show a
raw communication between the server and the client. Check whether the
correct host name and the address is used and so on.
I had a gnome keyring entry which i deleted but i was never asked
again for a password no matter what i tried.
The libsecret (talking for example to the gnome-keyring-daemon) can
sometimes remember the password for the current session. Re-login
usually flushes this cache. I also noticed such situation in the past.
Bye,
Milan
