I guess by "this message is displayed" you mean «It shows retrieving
message '1411565539.2642_3246.JRO-Mint17'» (it's confusing when we are
comparing that to showing email messages)

AFAIK this kind of text is always shown before opening an email, but it
usually loads so fast that we don't notice it.

So, the problem is that sometimes your message doesn't load at all but
retrying it takes a little to open but succeeds.

In addition of wondering about the message structure. What kind of
account is it? It seems more likely that this happens with a remote
account than a local one. It's even possible that your previous attempt
helped making the second one succeed.
