What is going on?
Sounds like you might be hitting this bug, which is fixed in
Evolution-Data-Server 3.10.4:

I updated evolution to 3.10.4, and the same thing happens. It may have
fixed some other problem, but not mine.
It might help if I knew exactly how to configure it. The options which
worked with the earlier version of evolution don't seem to exist with
version 3.10.
Receiving email imap 993 SSL encryption old version
imap+ 993 SSL on a dedicated port is closest
Sending email SMTP 587 TLS encryption old version
SMTP 587 STARTTLS after connecting seems closest
With these settings when I click on Send/Receive, it no longer gives me
an error message, but it shows a window saying
Public-Math (len imap math northwestern edu)
and below that an Updating window which shows No progress.
The older version showed a similar window but it said
Public-Math(imap)imap.math.northwestern.edu
and below that it showed progress in the Updating Window, and after a
while it completed.
Perhaps the problem lies with the server?
I would really like to get this straightened out because I have to
install Fedora 20 on the other comuter, which is my main computer. But
I'm not sure what to do if I can't get evolution working under Fedora
20.
