Dear All,
I am having problems in configuring evolution 3.2.3 on Ubuntu 12.04. However, the same configuration works pretty well with Thunderbird on my office machine. The details of the problem is given below:
1. My office has webmail,
Webmail for Indian Statistical Institute, North East Centre and I wish instead to download my mails on an email client. I have done it in my office on Thunderbird (do not know the version, but this was done at the beginning of 2012) and the details are below; I wanted to use the same parameters for Evolution 3.2.3 on my home PC and there was error.
2. Details as for Thunderbird:
Server Type: POP
Server name: www.isine.ac.in, port: 110
Username: <my username>
Security: STARTTLS
Authentication: Password
3. The outgoing server is always the Google mail smtp server and using the same I am actually sending mails (in particular, this mail) from the problematic Evolution 3.2.3 client; with GMail IMAP there is no problem at all.
The Evolution is much better and it was just the official choice which tied me down to Thunderbird; I would actually prefer to have the POP server configured with Evolution. Any help or suggestion would be highly appreciated.
With my regards,
