Re: [Evolution] Exchange connector frequently hangs - My stack trace attached!

Hi,

we are also investigating similar issue at our customer and we are trying to get more new traces. (Our developers from Novell are trying to solve it). It seems that evoldap2 library cause this problem.

Also we solved a lot of other crashes of Evolution in SLED 11 SP1, but we are still testing these fixes.

Now, Evo is hanging often during new email creating and only sometimes during Send/Reseive.

In the our pilot project we have about 1 - 3 crashes or hangs per day per desktop. I hope that we`ll solve it soon.

Regards

Milan

Dear list,

I am a determined Evolution user although a stability bug annoys me
practically on a daily basis.

I use it with our company Exchange and have about 6000 messages there
(this may be important).

In good times Evolution works pretty well, fetches and sends emails with
quite acceptable speed, etc. However, sometimes it gets very slow, the
GUI greyes out, and in some cases it even hangs completely.

--

This time when it has hanged for about 30 minutes, I decided to attach
to it with gdb and examine its threads.

I found a very suspicious one, displayed below (actually I have seen
this earlier as well). What I do not like is #14 in
e2k_context_send_message, where I believe the first 2 parameters should
be pointers rather than small integers...

- What do you think about it?
- Is it really a problem (memory overwritten), or just gdb tricking me?
- Is it known to the developers?
- How should we proceed (I can take such shots typically within 24
hours, it happens that often now).

Regards: Árpád
