All available debug packages for evolution are installed:
evolution-dbg
evolution-exchange-dbg
evolution-data-server-dbg
evolution-mapi-dbg

I did run
gdb evolution

I have not yet used gdb. There is also a /usr/lib/debug/usr/bin/evolution
but this does not have the executable permission. Should I set that and run
this binary?

        Hi,
well, I wrote to run e-calendar-factory under gdb, not evolution itself,
as it is not crashing. :)

You may try something like this (note the factory binary can be in other
folder):
   $ gdb /usr/libexec/e-calendar-factory --ex r --ex "t a a bt"
and then run evolution from another console and try to reproduce the
issue.

Before invoking gdb make sure the factory isn't running already, as
there can be only one in one time.

For more information how to get traces see [1], but I hope the above
command is sufficient.

        Bye,
        Milan
