have problems. The best thing is to wait for Ubuntu 10.10 or change
distro to one that does have Gnome 2.30, such as Fedora13.

Ubuntu 10.04 comes with Gnome 2.30,

Ah, OK. Told you that I know nothing about Ubuntu. :-)

but they held back Evo to 2.28.3,
because (I think) they were worried about the updates made for 2.30.
(Some discussion of this here:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1392909 ). Personally, I wish
they had shipped with Evo 2.30, but ultimately it's the distro's
decision.

So Vijay should be asking on the Ubuntu forums about Evo 2.30, not here
since it is largely nothing to do with Evo that Ubuntu shipped with 2.28
and not 2.30 - it is really up to the distro to deal with the fall out
from that decision.

All I can say to the original question is that I've been using Evo since
1.x days and it has upgraded seamlessly every time without any form of
manual intervention.
