Try this:
Stop Evo.
Remove index files.
Restart.
poc

Okay, Patrick, here are the files in question:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-rw-r--r-- 1 wbg wbg 2087075 2009-11-06 07:03 Inbox
-rw-r--r-- 1 wbg wbg 40 2009-11-06 07:21 Inbox.cmeta
-rw------- 1 wbg wbg 286720 2009-11-06 06:44 Inbox.ibex.index
-rw------- 1 wbg wbg 224156 2009-11-06 06:44 Inbox.ibex.index.data
Inbox.sbd:
total 186632
-rw-r--r-- 1 wbg wbg 185954553 2009-11-04 12:27 Inbox
-rw-r--r-- 1 wbg wbg 177 2009-11-06 07:19 Inbox.cmeta
-rw------- 1 wbg wbg 1434624 2009-11-04 07:44 Inbox.ibex.index
-rw------- 1 wbg wbg 3511456 2009-11-04 07:44 Inbox.ibex.index.data
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I believe, based on the above size numbers, that the location of the
missing messages is the "subsidiary", which BTW Evo created
without my asking it to when it was hijacking the move icon
off & on all day Wednesday,
I assume from your recommendation that if such a file is deleted, Evo will
regenerate it the next time it's fired up. But it makes me a trifle nervous
that the only files with the name "index" are quite large and obviously
full of data. So the obvious question is, which one(s) should I be removing?
BTW I am intensely curious about those numbers showing - my primary
Inbox only currently displays 70K worth of messages, but the top line
about it, above, is indicating 2 Mb. Then the top line on the subsidiary
is indicating 185 MB, which even with 600+ messages seems
an unlikely prospect...?
??
Thanks,
Brewster
