I just tested this on my system and it worked ok --
just a check, but you did set the filter to filter on outgoing mail??

Yes. Thanks, and to make it even better, I can add additional criteria
to put it in different folders.
For instance, if I have a folder called "Evolution" where this mailing
list is filtered to, I can have a criterion that checks to see if any of
the recipients contain evolution-list, and if so, move the outgoing item
to "Evolution".
OK. This was a great idea, except, it doesn't work, at least with Evo
2.22.2 on Ubuntu Hardy. I have to go into the Sent Items folder,
highlight and Ctrl-Y.
