Re: [Evolution] Evo having trouble closing

Here is an update on my problem: I think it may be related with the
trash folder. Because I noticed that the same 20 or so letters which I
keep deleting from my draft folder, end up back in my draft folder the
next time I open Evo.

And also, despite the fact that the trash is set to empty itself
whenever Evo gets closed, now when I open Evo the trash is still full. I
see that it has 213 letters in it dating back to April 16, and I have
closed Evo innumerable times since then. So the trash is unable to empty
itself on closing.

I tried clicking on "empty trash" now while Evo is open, and that also
it was unable to do. It gave rise to the same clicking sounds that
happen whenever I try to close the application, and ultimately yielded
the following error message:

--------------
"Error while Expunging folder.

Error storing `~/.evolution/mail/local/Inbox (mbox)': Summary and folder
mismatch, even after a sync"
--------------

So does it sound like the trash folder has gone bad? What do I have to
do to fix the situation?

Try to backup the local folders, start fresh and then import them one by
one.
I know is not an option if you have to many folders....

When you say "import", do you mean using the "import" command in the
File drop-down menu (i.e. the Evolution Import Assistant)? As I
understand, that is for .CSF, .tab, or .ldif files.

Will re-importing them one by one tell me if one a folder has bad data
in it? If so, how? Will it refuse to import a folder that has bad data
in it?

Hi,

In the last 7-10 days, evo has started giving delays when I try to close
the application. All the functions within evo seem to be working fine.
But when I click on the "x" in the upper right corner to close the
application, it can take around a full minute, with the hard drive
making some funny repetitive clicking noises until the application
finally closes. ...may it mean that
something in the application has become corrupt? And is there a way to
check this?

Thanks,
Swarup

Also: when I try to close Evo, just before the program closes there is
an error message which comes very briefly on the screen. Too briefly to
read it properly. But it says something like: "Error expunging and
storing account...evolution/mail/local"
