Hi, I've been reading the archives and searching Google, trying to see if I can abandon Windows while still accessing my email without the restrictions OWA imposes on non-IE browsers. I started off with evolution-exchange and eventually decided I should accept that it doesn't work with Exchange 2007. I then found posts (after much searching) about a MAPI plugin. I have not been able to get this plugin to load, so that is the focus of my current post, unless there are better suggestions. I am running Fedora 8 and have installed samba4-4.0.0r25768-16.1, libmapi-0.6_HOLODECK-8.5, evolution-mapi-provider-20080212.1-4.5, evolution-mapi-provider-debuginfo-20080212.1-4.5 via yum. The posts on exporting variables weren't entirely clear, so I figured I would export all suggested to err on the side of caution. I verified that my LD_LIBRARY_PATH and PKG_CONFIG_PATH were already empty and set them LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/opt/samba/lib PKG_CONFIG_PATH=/opt/samba4/lib/pkgconfig to appropriate values. I saw a suggestion to add /opt/samba4 to the PATH but that didn't make sense to me, since the binaries should be in /opt/samba4/bin. I tried both, just in case. When I start Evolution from the shell, I get the following (after checking the MAPI plugin box which does not stay checked when quitting): CalDAV Eplugin starting up ... libnm_glib_nm_state_cb: dbus returned an error. (org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.ServiceUnknown) The name org.freedesktop.NetworkManager was not provided by any .service files (evolution:4124): e-utils-WARNING **: can't load plugin 'libdcerpc.so.0: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory' ** (evolution:4124): WARNING **: Exchange MAPI $ ls -l /opt/samba4/lib/libdcerpc.so.0 lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 2008-04-01 06:56 /opt/samba4/lib/libdcerpc.so.0 -> libdcerpc.so.0.0.1 I have not been able to figure out what is different for me if others have gotten past this point. I know this is a long post, but "it doesn't work" is really a poor post :) Hopefully I have provided enough detail for someone to see the obvious that I've missed. BTW, do I need a special version of Evolution for the plugin? I'm using evolution-2.12.3-3.fc8.
2.12 is good :)
