Re: [Evolution] Filters: are they automatic?

Filters depend on flag new which will be set only when first time a
particular mail is fetched from server. If any other mail
client/evolution is used to check mails before its checked in evolution
in which filters are set, filters may not work.

I noticed when I set up my exchange account that the account's receiving
options checkbox "Apply filters to new messages in Inbox on this server"
was not checked by default, and had the same issue. (Perhaps because it
was a second account?) Now, checked, it works nicely for me. YMMV, but
nonetheless HTH. :)

This is probably a newbie question (which would make sense in my case), but
I can't seem to find the answer:

I've got a number of filters set up for my various inboxes, and when I
<ctrl>-y to manually run those filters they move qualifying messages to the
appropriate folders (all on IMAP). However, new messages delivered to the
inbox don't get moved. While Evolution is open and checking for new mail to
display, isn't there a way to move the messages automatically?

Sadly, I've got this box checked, and it doesn't seem to do anything. I
need to manually run the rules if they are to get run at all.
