RE: [Evolution] exchange connector

I have already sent the results of this to this list several months ago
but in the spirit of co-operation and trying to get it sorted, I have
repeated the tests. This is on 2.6 on an FC5 platform but I get the
same on 2.4 on FC4

1. Define server type to be MS Exchange
2. On receiving mail tab, enter
   UserId: geustace
   URL: https://our-server/exchange/G.Eustace
3. Select authenticate
4. Password dialogue asks for password for geustace
5. After OK, no errors but the main dialogue OK remains greyed out
6. Select authenticate again
7. Password dialogue now asks for password for G.Eustace ( which is
wrong )
5. After OK, an error dialogue is displayed could not authenitacte to
server.

At this stage, no further progress is possible.
Please note well !! This used to work great, the code was changed
somewhere between 2.0 and 2.4 and that broke it. Can you not look at the
code and see what was changed ?

Glen.

Can you try
URL as, http://<your server>/exchange/ks.bhaskar
and the user name as x1234567 (as you enter in OWA)

Does anyone know how to setup an Exchange account with
mailbox name different than windows logon name?

Thanks,
Sushma.

Thank you, Eustace, that's it exactly! On our Exchange server, my

Sushma, can you say anything more about this / help with
this? Thank
you very much.

I am still waiting for a resolution for this issue. It came in with
Evolution 2.4 and is still broken at 2.6, to date, I can not get an
acknowledgement out of Ximian/Novell that they even admit there is
something wrong but I can assure them there is. I have
been using Evo
for quite a while, in fact I started when one had to pay for the
Evo-connector. It worked great until 2.4 and hasn't worked since.

The cause, apparently, is an incorrect assumption (in the
code) about
mailboxes and userids. Something about the user and primary mailbox
now
needing to be the same. From what I can gather, for many
organisations
this is the case, in ours, it is not.

Can someone from Ximian/Novell please join the discussion as I would
*REALLY* like to get this fixed.

Sushma --

Thank you, II had to upgrade my Debian packages, but now I do have

/usr/lib/bonobo/servers/GNOME_Evolution_Exchange_Storage_2.6.server

The problem I am now running into is when I start up evolution, it
repeatedly asks me for my password, and gives me the
error message:

Error while Scanning folders in "Exchange server
exchange.fnfis.com".
Could not authenticate to server. (Password incorrect?)

I have done it enough times that I know I am entering my
password correctly.

evolution 2.0 has no problem connecting to this server,
but anything
after that fails. Could it have anything to do with the fact
that our
server uses plaintext passwords (but we connect over SSL). I
notice a
bug filed that evolution does not connect to an exchange
server that
uses plaintext passwords.

Thank you very much for your help.
