Yes, that's true. I even found my contacts and calendar back. I was used
at the buttons in the sidebar where you could choose between contacts,
calender and mail. I found them back under Window in the View menu.
Definitely less user-friendly.
Look at View->Switcher Appearence
(You probably have it set to none at present).
